Put some bang in your Bonfire Night party with some classic outdoor food, perfect for sharing and warming up with…
The humble spud comes into its element as a tasty traditional baked potato. Prepare earlier in the day, rub in olive oil, sea salt and some garlic butter, wrap in foil and cook on a low heat for a couple of hours. When you are ready to eat, scoop out the middle and mix in some cheese, garlic butter and bacon, returning to the oven for a few minutes to melt the mixture. Serve still wrapped in foil.
Liven up your bangers, by using some good quality local butcher’s sausages. We used WW Woodford’s Speciality Sausages and Briddlesford Lodge Farms award winning ones. Add some sparklers for a show-stopping treat (make sure to help little ones remove them before eating!)
A guaranteed crowd pleaser, especially those with a sweet tooth, is a marshmallow (more commonly known as S’mores) dip. Simply heat up chocolate, milk and half a pack marshmallows in a frying pan until melted. Top the with the remaining marshmallows until the whole top is covered and grill until the marshmallows are nicely toasted.
Dip in digestive biscuits, strawberries or whatever you fancy.
