Taste of the Wight were excited to be invited along to the launch of the Three Buoys brand new menu at the end of last week. Frequent visitors to the beachside restaurant (with possibly one of the best views on the Island, especially after dark) will know that it already has a well established reputation for beautifully cooked, fresh food with an emphasis on seafood (it really is right next to the sea!)
Now, the menu has been freshened to offer a unique and interesting dining experience alongside brand new dishes. The idea is a simple, yet effective one. Designed to share, choose from a select few seasonal dishes and try a bit of everything. Small, delicious plates are brought out in the best order for the palate, and sharing with your dining partner or partners makes the food the main topic of the evening. Usually you order exactly what you want and don’t often get to try something a bit more adventurous, so by sharing the options, you get to experience a broader range and hopefully discover a new favourite.
The series of different dishes add up to a substantial meal so you certainly don’t need to worry about going hungry. The dishes will be changing to reflect what is in season and local at the time, with stand-out stars currently being their own Bouillabaisse, lamb neck or heritage pumpkin plus an array of tasty desserts including chocolate delight and affogato. Staff remain super attentive and are happy to explain each dish fully, as if they had cooked it themselves!
Make sure to add the Three Buoys to your dining bucket list for some of the most well-thought out and tasty food on the Island.
