  • Your local guide to food and drink on the Isle of Wight

About Taste

Taste of the Wight is the Isle of Wight’s free local guide to food and drink. Now in its fifth year, it has cemented itself as the number one, independent companion for eating out on the Island. The printed version of Taste of the Wight is available at eateries, accommodation providers and outlets throughout the Island.

Welcome to summer on the Isle of Wight. The sun is shining, the beer gardens are blooming and our tummies are rumbling!

Thankfully, our little gem of an island boasts a huge array of produce to fi ll your bellies, thanks to its unique microclimate and extra hours of sunshine (lucky us!).  It’s almost like a mini-Mediterranean with our fresh garlic, juicy tomatoes and a wide abundance of seafood on offer, especially during the summer months – read our article on the freshest seafood around and where to eat it on page 32.

The Island truly has a foodie offering that punches well above its small size – our pubs, restaurants and cafés make the most of the amazing items right on their doorstep, turning them into delicious dishes in some of the most stunning locations around – see our guide to ‘Food with a View’ on page 80.

You will also find a jam-packed foodie calendar with many events for the whole family including the world-famous Garlic Festival and the legendary Classic Beer, Buses and Walks Weekend and many more on page 92.

So tuck right in and discover all the food and drink that the Isle of Wight has to offer.

Our website includes news, features and recipes as well event listings, competitions and much more! The printed guide and website is fully supported by our popular social media channels via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; please do get in touch so we can help to promote and share all your news.

We believe these steps will enable Taste of the Wight to continue to create a first class guide that visitors and local residents alike will be excited to pick up and use as they explore the wonderful food and drink on the Isle of Wight.
