The Dairyman's Daughter
A traditional pub, in a traditional country setting. The Dairyman’s Daughter is a bustling freehouse nestled right in the centre of Arreton Barns, the Isle of Wight’s largest arts and crafts centre. Popular with townies and farmers from the neighbouring fields (and their dogs) around the Valley, you will find a traditional feel and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Beautifully decorated in original memorabilia, the Dairyman’s Daughter is a ‘proper’ traditional pub with a lovely outdoor courtyard and sheltered seating area, ideal for the summer months. Perfect for a family gathering or just a drink with friends.
The pub is named after Elizabeth Wallbridge, a local girl who was made famous by the book ‘Annals of the Poor’. She is now buried in the village churchyard alongside a 12th Century church, village green and duck pond within Arreton Barns.
There is an extensive menu featuring some of the best in local produce and homemade favourites. Service starts at 10am with the all day breakfast and the main menu is available from 12noon right through to 21:30.
Many dishes on the menu are adaptable for specific dietary requirements including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan as well as a full kids menu.
For the desert enthusiast the sundae menu is second to none, with flavours that are sure to appeal to everyone.
There are plenty of real ales and fine wines on offer to complement your meal.
Live music is a regular feature of The Dairyman’s Daughter and there are plenty of events throughout the year including real ale festivals and the legendary Sweetcorn Fayre.
