Meet the landlady: Alison Wills & Rachel Sharp, The White Horse 2000 1325 The Editor

Reputed to be one of the oldest pubs on the Isle of Wight, The White Horse in the pretty village of Whitwell was first recorded as a public house way back in 1454!

Alison and Rachel

What is the best thing about being a landlady?
For us, the best thing is meeting new people and being part of the great community we have in Whitwell.

What is your favourite local tipple?
We tend to enjoy the Mermaid Gin now and then!

Other than your pub, where would you go for a drink?
On a rare night off, we like to go for a nice meal and a bottle of wine at The Taverners in Godshill.
