Inns of Distinction have pubs on some of the Islands most popular walks. Throw in the fact that they have extensive menus filled with local produce and a welcoming atmosphere for the whole family, including the four-pawed variety.
The Boathouse in Seaview sits right opposite the beach, perfect for resting weary legs and refreshing with a pint of local ale or locally distilled gin, as well as an award-winning menu. On the fringes of Puckpool Park and its amenities, ideal for an evening constitutional and is only 30 minutes along the beautiful Appley beach to the shopping centre of Ryde. In the other direction the chic sailing village of Seaview is just along the coast, as is the Hersey Nature Reserve.
The Fishbourne is on the coastal path and is an ideal stop off point for lunch or an overnight stay if you are doing the long stretch between Cowes and Bembridge for example. For the slightly less energetic it is a ten minute woodland path stroll from the historic Quarr Abbey and a little over an hours walk from all that Ryde has to offer. For an after dinner stroll what could be better than a two minute ramble from the pub through the beautiful Fishbourne village to the little known and secluded Fishbourne beach
The Spinnaker is situated on the edge of the large village of Bembridge and it is only a ten minute stroll to the varied boutique shops the village has to offer. 20 minutes walk will take you to Bembridge beach and the Foreland, where at low tide, a huge expanse of beach and rock pools open up to be explored. The National Trust’s Bembridge Windmill is 30 minutes walk from The Spinnaker and is always worth a visit. From there wonderful high hedged paths lead to views over the airport, downs and beyond.
