Farmer-Jacks-4

Farmer Jack’s have thought carefully about social distancing methods to keep you safe.

Farmer Jacks Farm Shop Farmer Jacks Farm Shop is still very much still open for business every day for your fresh produce, pantry staples, meat and deli needs. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 8:30–9:30am they are offering an hour of shopping exclusively for customers who are over 70 years old and vulnerable customers. During this hour, only two customers will be allowed into the shop at a time. The shop will then open to everyone at 9:30am–5pm. On Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the shop will be open to everyone. The shop is, of course, observing strict social distancing guidelines from the government so please respect this. Growing a lot of their own produce and having strong local supply chains Farmer Jacks haven’t yet experienced much disruption to their supply chains – another great reason to shop at the local farm shops over the supermarkets. We love their weekly veg boxes available in store currently at a superbly great value, priced at just £5.99!

The Tomato Stall The Tomato Stall – purveyors of the sunshine fruit. Perhaps the Isle of Wight’s most famous export? It is pretty close between them and the Garlic Farms garlic. At the least it is most wide-reaching, being stocked in farmers markets up and down the country. But during this time they are a great place to get your stock of fresh tomatoes, aubergines, padron peppers, olive oil, Turner Hardy & Co juices, as well as their range of Tomato Stall products. They make a large family 3kg box of new season Isle of Wight tomatoes that are ideal for any sauces, stews, salads and more which will keep the family nourished and bellies happy! Please note, the varieties in the box will change seasonally. You will also find their tomatoes and products stocked in other local stores across the Island. A must-visit is their ‘tomatopedia’ on their website a (you guessed it) tomato encyclopedia with recipes and stories for you to check out.

The Garlic Farm The Garlic Farm site has now closed to the public but many of their range is still available online on their website along with a few other local Island products. They have also launched a new offer for their ‘Wonky Wight Bulbs’ to reduce waste and allow you to order 10 or 20 bulbs packs of their quality bulbs. The rustic bundles are more wonky but just as tasty.
