Simply call and pre-order your meals for collection to enjoy wherever you please. Why not be creative – how about fish and chips in the car on the seafront? You could even pack up the plates and enjoy a picnic (weather depending of course). If you can’t live without your caffeine fix, you can even have your coffee delivered!

With the government relaxing planning rules to allow pubs and restaurants to operate as hot food takeaways during the coronavirus outbreak, many Island eateries are now offering restaurant-quality food to enjoy in your own home.

What’s more, if you live within the local area, some will even deliver direct to your door – meaning you won’t miss out if you need to stay at home. The White Horse at Whitwell, Yarbridge Inn at Brading and even the Little Gloster at Gurnard are amongst those offering delivery services.

There are even some special offers to be had, the Highdown Inn at Totland are offering a main course and dessert for £12 with free delivery thrown in and Nomad in Newport will even supply your dinner with a pre-made mixer for you to add your own booze to so you can still enjoy your favourite cocktail from the comfort of home! Choosing to support local businesses, helps to sustain the fabric of the community – do your bit to help keep a local pub, cafe or shop open over the coming weeks.

For the latest news on which pubs, restaurants and cafés are offering takeaway and delivery service, visit our dedicated ‘open for business’ page. We’ve done the hard work so you don’t have to!
