The Island’s foodie scene has just got a little tastier and The Brunswick Hotel in Shanklin is at the epicenter of it.

Paul and Jenna Massey, previous owners of fine dining restaurant Fine Nammet, have teamed up with talented chef Robert Green.

The team is creating a fine dining restaurant experience at the Horizon restaurant within The Brunswick Hotel with just 8 tables, keeping it exclusive.

Horizon is open daily for; Lunch 12 – 2pm, Afternoon Tea 3 – 5pm and Dinner 6 – 8pm and is by pre-booking only.

Chef Robert Green said “I am genuinely excited with my new position as head chef at the Brunswick Hotel heading up the Horizons exclusive fine dining restaurant. I have been looking for the opportunity to showcase my passion and flair for fine dining and local produce.” He continues “Paul and Jenna have given me the freedom I have always wanted as a chef to write my menus and put my personality on a plate so to speak.”

This really is a dream team with both parties having a vast amount of experience in the local restaurant industry, Robert as chef at The Three Buoys in Ryde and Jenna and Paul as owners of Fine Nammet, Shanklin, and running various pubs.

Jenna said ‘ we are excited to welcome customers to our exclusive, fine dining restaurant. We ask that those wishing to visit pre-book as we do have limited space. We look forward to seeing many old and new faces.’

Robert’s chef caliber is second to none. He started working under Gordon Ramsey at Petrus in London, when it had a Michelin Star. He then moved on to Taplow House Hotel in Windsor which had 2 rosettes. Robert’s last venture on the mainland was working with the great Jason Atherton at Berners Tavern which was an upmarket modern British restaurant which now has a Michelin star.

With Paul’s background also firmly rooted as a chef in a busy kitchen this dynamic team are sure to cook up a storm and tantalise the taste buds of the Isle of Wight alongside a customer service that is second to none.

The team is ambitious and a main goal is to obtain a rosette for the Horizon restaurant at The Brunswick Hotel. With the restaurant overlooking the beautiful vista of Sandown Bay and the use of local produce this is a restaurant you will want to book in to.
